Life Credit Union are now recruiting for a Full -Time Member Service Officer on a Permanent contract. The Member Service Officer will be responsible for carrying out a range of administrative and operational activities that contribute to the effective running of the credit union.


The Member Service Officer is on the front line of service provision for Life Credit Union and is the warm, professional & friendly face that greets members and embodies our culture and ethos. Excellent Customer Service skills and attention to detail is a must in this role.


The position is Full - Time (37.5 hours p/week) over Tuesday to Saturday;

Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday; 9.00 am to 17.15 pm

Thursday; 9.00 am to 20.15 pm

Saturday; 9.00 am to 13.30 pm


The successful candidate must be available to work in any branch office; Main St, Naas; Main St, Maynooth; Main St, Newbridge; Monread Centre, Naas; or other such location as may be determined by the credit union within the common bond.


The successful candidate will be required to satisfy the minimum competency requirements as set out in the Central Bank Guidelines, (QFA/APA). The Credit Union will provide financial support for the successful candidate to obtain this qualification if they do not have it currently.


Reporting directly to the Branch Manager the Member Service Officer will provide an efficient and helpful service to members including, but not limited to:

  • Dealing with member services transactions, such as cash transactions, account opening and operation.

  • Dealing with front line and back office administration functions, including filing, scanning, data input and payment allocation.

  • Balancing own batch on a daily basis.

  • Promoting the products and services of the Credit Union in daily member engagement.

  • Support Business Development offsite promotional days

  • Contribute to the achievement of company and department targets and goals.

  • Dealing with member queries on any Credit Union related matter.

  • Co-operation with manager in the development and/or implementation of new technology or services

  • To be aware of and compliant with various procedures, legislation and regulations governing Credit Union operations.

  • To be aware of and comply with all Health & Safety regulations as directed by the credit union.

  • To undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by the manager.


Education, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail required

  • Customer Focused, with friendly and professional manner

  • Ability to perform under pressure and work on own initiative

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible and be able to respond to changing business requirements.

  • Excellent team player and a 'can-do' attitude.

  • Ability to be able to multitask while maintaining high standards.
